Place of Origin

Mengku Town, located in Shuangjiang Lahu, Wa, Bulang and Dai Autonomous County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, China, is one of the main production areas of Pu’er tea. It is renowned for its unique natural environment and long history of tea tree cultivation. Here, the mountains are high and the water is long, shrouded in clouds and mist, and the soil is fertile, providing excellent conditions for the growth of tea trees. The raw tea of ancient trees in Mengku Town originates from this magical land. Each leaf contains the essence of nature and the precipitation of time.

  • Altitude: Mengku Town has a terrain that is high in the north and low in the south, with intersecting river valleys and undulating mountains. The highest peak in the area is Daxueshan, with an altitude of 3233 meters, which is a major geographical indication in the local area. The lowest point is located at the confluence of Mengku River and Huilei River in Dahewan, with an altitude of 1040 meters.
  • Temperature: Mengku Town belongs to the subtropical mountainous monsoon climate zone, with a mild climate, distinct dry and wet seasons, and large temperature differences between day and night. The annual average temperature is about 18 ℃, which makes Mengku Town a place with spring like seasons, suitable for living and crop growth
  • Soil: The soil in Mengku Town is mainly composed of red soil, yellow soil, and black soil. This soil condition provides a suitable environment for the growth of local plants, especially creating unique conditions for the growth of tea trees.
